Everybody thinks of Cool Hand Luke when then think of Newman. But my favorite performance and film with Paul Newman is The Verdict directed by Sidney Lumet and written by David Mamet.

One of two actors over whose deaths I've actually shed tears, and one of the reasons Roger and I named our son Luke. What an amazing life, and a long life, and still, over all too soon.
